Yes, I have fished the Toyota hole, thanks for the suggestion tho!
I personally had no issue anchoring there. Current isn't usually too bad, and I make sure to alwyas have some sort of quick release on my anchor line.

Only had three hours to fish today, had to come home n do Halloween stuff with the fam.

Big dinos jumping all around Swan area. Little ones were hungry, big ones, not so much.

Beautiful day out.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

I forgot to say, that the parking lot was actually the cleanest and least sketchy I've ever seen it.

I just found out, that after I left, my buddy found a spot of large sturgeon willing to bite and just slayed it.

I had to take a rain check on fishing the mouth of the Klick on Sunday as my wife suddenly had other plans.

Instead I went today. A short report:
Beautiful conditions with very light wind. Some 25 boats working the area. Fishing for sure was not hot and clearly winding down as per comments from folks who fish there frequently, but enough fish were landed to feel bad if you got skunked. Most fish were small (coho) and at least from a distance seemed so colored up that I probably would not have taken them home.
For the longest time "skunked" seemed to be my destiny for the day.
I trolled for hours, waiting for the takedown that never came.
When some boats started jigging I switched over to hovering eggs (what i planned to do all day but with everybody else trolling i didn't want to be "that guy" blocking the trolling lanes....). Had a few nibbles that I missed and later had one for a few seconds. I was already in extra time and the "I'll be home for dinner" had already become a stretch goal, but the lost fish motivated me stay a little longer. Shortly after i hooked up again, and now good. The fish did not really fight like a salmon initially and i was curious what I had on the other side of the line (my fear was a big pikeminnow  :P :P). The fish needed some some time to realize that he was in trouble and only then took a few runs. It turned out to be a salmon after all. The netting was probably the worst i have ever done (and i already had quite a few horrible efforts on my name) but eventually I got the fish in the kayak. A small hatchery chinook to end a good Columbia season. It cut nice.

Stinger, good to hear about that one last salmon, and about your perseverance paying off.

I have heard that dinos are back in Scappoose Bay.  And it’s much safer than most places around Portland, unfortunately.
