We're doing things a little differently this year at the Oregon Rockfish Classic when it comes to prizes.   In the past, sponsored prizes were given to the top ten finishers.    Additional prizes where then raffled off to the remaining contestants.

This year however, we are going with mostly cash prizes for the top ten place finishers and most of our sponsored prizes are going to be raffled off.  Each paid registration will entitle you to your first two raffle tickets.  Additional raffle tickets will be available for $10 apiece on Friday and Saturday of the tournament.

All of the raffle proceeds will go to support Heroes on the Water and Neighbors for Kids

Now on to the prizes...

The ORC organizing committee is excited to announce that the grand prize for the 2016 ORC raffle is a brand new Wilderness Systems Thresher 140 w/ rudder and a Adventure Technology Odyssey Angler 240 Paddle.   This is the premier big water kayak by Wilderness Systems and a combined package value of nearly $2000 MSRP.

Stay tuned for more raffle prize announcements.

THAT is a crazy awesome raffle prize!
Someone could win this by just purchasing a raffle ticket and not even fishing the ORC tournament??

Yes, it is a crazy raffle prize.  But.... it's not the only great prize we will be raffling off.

Everyone who enters the tournament will get two raffle tickets for registering.   Anyone who attends the activities at Chinook Bend RV Resort is free to purchase more raffle tickets at $10 apiece.  So don't forget to hit the ATM on the way to the campground.   The more raffle tickets we sell, the more we raise for Heroes on the Water and Neighbors for Kids.

anyone who attends activities means what? entrants only? or mean open to anyone who is camping at chinook bend can get in on raffle?

Hopefully it means anyone camped there, right? After all, more raffle tickets sold means more funds raised for HOW and Neighbors for Kids.

It's new for us, but seems to be a proven formula for many of the NCKA tournaments down in Northern California.

Anyone attending the festivities competitor or not can buy raffle tickets. If you can't compete in ORC you can still have a chance to win the prizes.

Dang that's a cool top raffle prize! I may just have to get more raffle tickets. I would love to have that kayak in my garage. Good job!

I will need to coordinate with the taco feed people on that, but I'm hoping to have it wrapped up as soon as possible.  If I can squeeze it in before dinner that would be best.

Just a thought but TBMD I do the raffle and awards while we're eating, only takes a second to put down the burger/tritip/brisket and come up front. Just make sure the guys running the show eat first ;)

I like that idea, but with so many people and the usual bottle neck at the fried fish line, there might be too much going on to have everyone's attention during dinner.
