There's some pretty epic salmon fishing in there but you're a little too early and south. You can use rings in there for crab year-round - no pots. Long beach has good surf perching, and the Ilwaco jetty is good for some rockfish, lingcod, and possibly early coho returning the Columbia.

Points of interest? Astoria is a cool town with decent breweries. There's a decent charter fleet out of Ilwaco - if the warm water is close enough you might find some charters running out for tuna.
