You may want to consider going up the W side to avoid at least some Pugetopolis traffic. Unfortunately I never fish from that side so I don't know the launches.

Thanks, everyone, for helping a Portland dude understand the options - much appreciated!

I would really like to catch some pink salmon in full color. Not to eat. Any suggestions when and where??

I wish that Nisqually River had more access points upriver..... there looks like a possible float from McKenna down to the canal discharge....any intel?

Uhhhhmmmm not a good idea. Part of that goes through Fort Lewis and Tribal lands... may not be able to do those stretches..

OK thanks for the advice.

I'll post in here Monday with angler success as a gauge of run timing. Still wouldn't bother with South of the narrows unless you're willing to paddle up the Nisqually from Luhrs.

I would really appreciate that, thank you. I have been told that they show up later in the south sound area (than in the north sound area) but I may be misinformed. My main reasons for targeting them there instead of somewhere else are familiarity with the area, drive time, and other fishing opportunities in the same location. It looks like Steilacoom would have similar fishing opportunities, I've just never fished there before.

From Stielacoom, you also can go north to Chambers Creek, and Browns Point in Tacoma. There's other place between them but names escape me

The Snohomish, Skykomish and Skagit will be rotten with humped up pinks for a few weeks starting now. They're all floatable. Lots of pinks in the Puyallup and Green/Duwamish, but the access points tend to be really crowded.

Lauren, just got word from former coworker, Coastal Cutthroats are jamming the west side of Hood Canal and Case inlet if you'd like to try that.
