With kids my days of halibut from the yak are next to 0. Gaff and a2 buoy are in need of a new home. Pick up in Olympia.

what do you use the a2 bouy for on a halibut rig?

Start at about the 2:20 mark . Rudy hits the 'but with a good harpoon shot, but the fish is big enough to take 30+ lbs of flotation under with it.   

You're tiring the fish by adding more drag. And also locating it if it swims away
