Unfortunately I won't be able to make it down until high tide, if I can skip out of work in time I'll be launching around noon. We'll probably stick around for the evening low as well.

Any reason you guys prefer low tide? Isn't the fishing supposed to be better during high tide?

Fishing report for 05/15
Went down on Wednesday. Lots of moose along the road side between Kasilof and Whiskey Gulch. Weather was cloudy with a bit of rain but minimal wind and calm seas.
Badger68 made it down. It was nice to meet and fish with him. Thanks Badger for recommending that I fish the high tide...it paid off.
I caught one chicken on the morning low tide and then fished the following high tide and caught my second Butt of the day. A much nicer fish and a perfect size for eating....Thanks again Badger for the company. I hope to meet up and fish with you again!!!! ;D

Those are some nice eating halibuts. Hope your wife made it to Homer.  I will plan on being down to WG the 25-26 weekend depending on weather. More Kings should be in then.

I fished WG yesterday 5/16 (first time out there in almost two years) and picked up these two chickens.  Stomachs were full of small crabs (I thought there would be some hooligan).  Couldnt’t manage any kings but the fleet of charter boats was all around trolling that area.  The road construction definitely slowed the drive down and screwed up my timing so I didnt get to stay out as long as I would have liked.

Nice catch Erick....the construction definitely slows the drive down from Anchorage. So, anyone going down should add some extra time to allow for it.
Badger...my wife did make it to Homer. We had a pretty amazing day. I got to fish and she enjoyed the beach combing and visit to Homer. Thanks for hanging out and chatting with us  ;D ;D ;D
