This has become a regular May trip usually 10-20 guys meeting up or caravan down. For me the drive is about 8 hours. What used to be 60 miles of dirt has been diminished to about 1 mile at the final turn off.

I invited my dad to go down to Baja. He flew out from Minnesota and we took off in the middle of the night to meet a few others at Dennys in Calexico to run down together. My dad suffered his first heart attack 2 years younger than I am now and has had a couple more heart attacks and a stroke. He is 77 and still kicking ass :D I had a great time with him. I got to hear stories from jungle warfare training in Panama in the 60s to elk hunts in Idaho. He was even gored in the thigh by a big buck 10 years ago. We reminisced about all the fishing and hunting trips we have shared together and I even heard him drop a few F bombs for the first time ever. :D We battled some wind and it got a little hot at times, we managed to catch some good fish and ate fish every day there.  I'd go back tomorrow if I could. Whale sharks were every where Great bunch of guys to hang out with as usual. Gracias a Dios!

That is so awesome.  Thanks for sharing the slide show!

Baja has been on my bucket list for a long while.  When I built my Yak-A-Haul-it trailer, Baja washboard roads were highly considered during fabrication.   ;D

Thanks for the video. Baja is one of my favorite places. I spent years down there all added up. It feeds the soul like no place else.

Looked it up last night - looks like a great place to go. Too bad that the road is paved all the way now as it will probably tempt a lot more people to go there, but maybe the relative lack of amenities will discourage the average tourist for awhile.
