I took my Revo 13 up to San Juan Island today with my fiancι and her family.  I figure it's the last day for lingcod season, and I had to give it a try. Went out to Smugglers Cove and caught six cabezon and a few coppers, all of which I released successfully. :) I came back to the house to check in with the family, and they told me to keep trying. So I peddled across the channel to Henry Island, and started jigging. It was getting pretty rough, and I was about to call it quits when bam!  :D I knew it was a long right away. Might not be the biggest ling, but he put up a great fight!

Persistence pays with lings sometimes. Nice work getting the first one on your kayak.

Sweet! When you work hard for them they always taste better

That first picture - I think that's a red irish lord. (I don't think it's a cabezon.)

Great pictures and fish! Looking forward to more.
