Hope this is int he right section, a quick report from the other nwka across the pond...

A few of us decided to head over to the North East for a quick fishing session, about an 2 hour drive from the North West. Got there late morning and were joined by Al and co. Conditions looked perfect so without wasting time we hit the water, the tide was well on it's way out so a bit of a muddy affair launching...

We all headed over to the break line, a few lads went further out but me and Dave stayed put and did a bit of trolling along the line.
I was the first one hooking-up and christened my Evo with a nice little bass, Dave soon followed with nice bass too.

I have not yet had time to rig my Fish finder etc so were fishing blind but once we found the fish it was pretty easy going with bass action all around, hardly took any pics but it was quite enjoyable with just a rod and a few lures. Because I could not tell the depth I used my Feed Shallow in a mullet pattern, at least this way I kept clear of most of the rocks and kelp. Dave used a Feed Shallow to but in a slightly lighter pattern, this proofed to be a hit for the sea gulls, he managed 3 in total, all released I might add...

With the action continuing Dave hooked-up into a nice fish that went deep, taking a nice zonk with it, I myself suffered a loss when I too hooked into a nice fish and donated my lovely Feed Shallow to the kelp, no matter what I did I could not turn the fish, most probably a pollock. Gutted to say the least, with no FF and most of my lures running deep(ish) I opted to go for a cheap lure. Luckily for me my confidence in this cheaper alternative grew when it turned out to have the same affect on the bass.

It was a nice day out, loads of seal pups around adding to the nice scenery of this coast line.

After the bass action we headed further out and bagged a few mackerel, I also had a nice pollock and surprisingly two dabs on tinsels jigging for mackerel, they were the ugliest scabbiest dabs I have ever seen, that was about it from me and Dave, Al caught s pollock and I think Spud witnessed a fish being caught, haha

Thanks for the pics! I like the look of those kayaks, they look fast and clean.  What are the dimensions (length/width)?

Thanks for the report! Do you folks have a big problem with sea lions in the UK?

Nice report! Like the jab at your buddy Spud...  :)

One thing I noticed quickly is that none of you have flags on your kayaks. Do you not have much powerboat traffic in your area? Virtually all the NWKA members here fly them.

Sorry for the late reply chaps, between work and time zones...

There are 3 different yaks there, two Stealth Evolutions, one is the 465 (L) 4.7m x (W) 0.66m Weight - 27KG Angler Weight 110kg - Maximum Load 190KG the other is a 495  (L) 5m x (W) 0.69m Weight - 29KG Angler Weight 140KG - Maximum Load 210KG. The red and mist grey is the new Pro Fisha 575 (L) 5.75m x (W) 0.605m Weight - 25KG Maximum Load - 170KG. They are designed in South Africa, since I am originally from SA I started to import them to the UK, the PF 575 is a brand new design, still getting used to it but its a very stable fishing platform and not to mention the speed.

I had a bit of a play with it on Sunday to see what I can do with it, struggled to capsize it.

Have a look here for some kayak porn...

Dont think we get sea lions here in the UK, only seals. They dont seem to much of a problem tho, perhaps steeling the odd fish but thats about it.

We do fly flags but all depends on area, this particular location have very little boat traffic but other parts its a must, although some of the idiots over here in their gin palaces powerboats wont see you even if you fly a flag...

Pretty sweet looking ride!

Funny how many Mfrs. product offerings never make it to our shores. We could find some good use for a kayak like that.

You're waaaaay better off without ever smelling a sea lion's breath. PeeeeYuuuuu.
