Welcome to Heroes On the Water - Portland, OR chapter - S5.E1
We are looking for a few volunteers to help out on 3/25 at Lost Lake. Volunteers at 0800 with Veterans arriving 0900.
They are planting 3k trout that week and there will likely be a few steelhead in there.

I may be able to help. I'm helping out at the NOC chapter event on the 23rd but that will be my first event. Do I need any sort of credentials to get involved?
Lost lake definitely had some steelhead in it. Went out a few weeks ago. Didn't get anything from the yak but my gf got one from the bank.

No special credentials necessary. On bigger bodies of water a VHF is helpful, but Lost Lake is small enough you can hear a frog fart on the opposite shore.

I can handle the morning snack. I'll pick up some Costco muffins and coffee/juice. We may have two additional Vets that want to come fish from the bank. I'll check again with Dennis on Monday or Tuesday when he has more info.

As the saying goes, everything old is new again. We started out S5.E1 at the same place we had our pilot event. We hadn't been back there in the between time, and I don't know why. Lost Lake is a sweet spot.
It was great to see all our HOW friends both old and new. Our awesome volunteers coached all the Veterans onto tons of trout. Thanks to Great Bass 2 and his charming wife for preparing a very delicious lunch. And thanks to Snarf and Kat for clearing the log jam at the ramp.
One of our regulars was even able to haul in a piggy steelhead on our mickey mouse trout gear with probably 6# test.
Thanks to everyone for coming out. We'll see ya'll again on April 29th out on Sauvie's.
