Title: Rookie Fishing 7/10 thru 7/13?
Post by: AKsteel7377 on June 22, 2018, 11:19:59 AM
I am looking at heading for the Peninsula 7/10-7/13. Hoping to have my Outback set up for Offshore Halibut fishing if weather permits. If not i will be looking at floating the Kenai. Is anyone interested in looking out for a Rookie?

I'm down to roll out if you want at least someone to go with. I'm way new too, but I should have at least 1 or 2 trips out of Whiskey Gulch under my belt before then. Possibly even Seward. I come in from work on the 28th of June and will be home till the 12th of July. The more the safer/merrier right?!

Not sure how the timing is going to work for me, but I if I can work it out and weather is good... I will be there, so keep me in the loop.   Happy to make up a flotilla and get after em that weekend !

Sounds good Rider. I know I am thinking about pitching the truck tent and grabbing some firewood and hanging out for two or three days. Depending on work, I'll be down the either the 9th or 10th and dont need to be back in Anchorage until the evening of the 13th. It would be great to meet some of the community and learn some new skills and just have a good time. hopefully catch a few good tides and put some blood on the new kayak :)... Oh, and my plan was Whiskey Gulch

I've got my dry suit ready to go! We got blown off of Hidden Lake yesterday so I haven't gotten to really try it out. Still planning on getting a group together day after tomorrow? I'm down to go in the rain, just not willing to risk the wind.

Well the weather is fine and the water looks good! Unfortunately, I decided it would be a good idea to completely destroy my lower back yesterday :embarassed:. I cant even load the yak in the truck. I hope you guys absolutly murder them without me!
