So I got the angle necked version of the vittles vault (kind of pricey at $40+ at Petco).
I like it - now I have a convenient dry place to store things and don't have to rinse salt water off everything at the end of the day.
Only downside is that the size of the opening restricts you to medium sized tackle trays, etc.  The opening is about 9" diameter.

I just put a tape on it and the opening is ~ 10 3/4". Nice box DoubleR. Can you not get a full size Plano in yours with the neck? I know I can get at least one in mine.

How many beers will it hold?

That's easy Craig, "Not Enough" if you're coming. Ha!

They do make one that holds horse food, or maybe we can look into just strapping a party keg back there.

^ this pic would make a killer avatar.

A skinny full size Plano would fit, but the 3600 size (~7-1/4" wide) go in a lot easier, and there is plenty of room to move them around or stack them inside.  You can see part of a 11"long by 4" deep waterproof storage box inside the vault in the picture above.

I'm pretty sure a pony keg won't fit.

OK, I found one at D&B supply.  It's the 40lb size.  I've added some rod holders and I have to figure out if I want to add those eyes or not.  I had some leftover foam from my Hawgtrough so I glued it into the back of the lid to keep it from sinking if drop it.

Love mine still!! Since I first posted, I've mounted the lip-grip holder I made, and a Scotty paddle clamp to hold my death club. And that's about it. I did make another one out of the 20# size bin that looks identical, but I like the 30# a little better.
I just strapped it into the tankwell real quick and took an updated pic. Pretty simple, but it fits my needs perfectly.

(BTW yes, someone bothered to paint my garage walls and ceiling yellow. The eighties were weird like that.)

My wife said to tell you the 80's were so 35 years ago and you can go ahead and re-paint the garage now.

I can't seen to find the picture of mine anymore.  I'm still using and liking it.  Maybe I'll post another picture later.

I haven't used it with the new seat install yet.  I'm hoping I can still access it ok.
