I took a ride down the road to Homer today to grab some gear that will complete my tackle box(es) and I checked out the beach along the way.  When I pulled in to the Deep Creek parking lot I noticed no ice left on the beach.  The parking lot was not plowed though.  I made it in and out of there no problem but anyone without 4x4 and high clearance should avoid this until a later date.  Flat water but windy.

I didn't make any stops between Deep Creek and Homer to check out other beaches, since I'm unfamiliar with the roads and I figured they were unplowed like DC.

Homer beaches are great.  A little snow and minimal ice left.

Another few weeks and you will all be playing catch up for AOTY points.
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

Nice!  Thanks for the report!  If access is iffy, I plan to launch out of Homer near the condos for kings and halibut starting in late April or early May.  If you have a 4wd and know how to read the beaches ( or have two rigs),  once accessible, driving south from deep creek then launching is a good plan.  Need to be a mile south before you can start fishing within a mile of shore.  Two miles either side of anchor and ninilchik rivers from April 1 to June 30.
