Title: themilkcratemag.com articles
Post by: andyjade on October 08, 2012, 04:55:23 PM
Like the move to consolidate all KFM articles/updates into one notification thread, we decided to make a sticky listing relevant Milkcrate updates.  Today has us kicking off another issue; Annie Doyle is up first, and Drew Gregory is tomorrow's cover boy. South African big game action coming later in the week.

Also, if you've ever wondered what the inside of the chum bucket smells like, Fish Tattoo is giving you the chance with a two part interview.

I don't really offer much in the way of gems, but you should really wander that site and learn some wisdom from a very nice and bassy guy.

Allen, can you make this sticky?

Let me get this straight, Disney buys LucasFilms, and you think that makes it ok to post pictures of carbon fiber, mirage driven, surf-ski, stardestroyers on facebook?

My god that craft looks amazing.

Allen sent me a link to some kayak porn. We do that a lot. I clicked it and was blown away at what this guy created. So I wrote him and struck up a conversation. The designer of the boat is Nicholas Cryder. He lives in your neck of the woods. Totally cool chap.  We'll have him up next week. With lots of boat porn.  RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!!!!

my favorite part of the milkcrate is always the question... "Tell us a story, any story."  Our lives are defined by our stories.

It's our birthday week, and we have some hearty offerings. We'll soon get to the carbon kraken; for now, it's time to unleash another beast. Mr. Jim Sammons:

You know that boat-shaped chunk of plastic sitting in your garage? That one that stinks of fish and marine epoxy? Go give it a hug and refrain from mentioning your new online mistress:

NCW, you may have to give him a call.  Provided you're serious.  He's a cool cat; maybe you could convince him to make you one.

very pretty boat, im sure it is a bit out of my price range, as i can't even afford a Hobie, let alone a custom carbon fiber hybrid.  It seems to me that their would be a market for something like that- like he said "lifting the whole sport"  Very sweet looking boat- seems like a real cool cat.  Thanks AJ

Let's check the species scoreboard.

Jim Sammons 106.

Ling Banger at an even dozen!

Almost looks like the Ducks played LaVon's Beauty College.

We've added three more interviews to the mix, including chats with Kayak Kevin, YakAngler's Mark Watanabe, and Hobie pro Rob Milam. We're celebrating the giving spirit of the season, and all three gents are known for the ways in which they give back to the sport.

Great article on Howard. I love that he wants to be as far from the spot light and self promotion as possible. Do it for the love of doing it ... not for others to think you are important.

Howard is a true giant.  Literally.  He's taller than me :)

Awesome article!  This is a GREAT point:

"I think we need to stop the “us vs. power boaters” mentality. I know the issues with sharing water, but we’re stronger together than apart. It’s obvious that as resources decline, recreational anglers of any sort are an easy target for restrictions. We need to band together against the commercial fleet, and pollutants, and greed, are where the real problems lie."

We had our buddy, Pat, make the rounds and check out some tournaments. He chatted with organizers and staff; his conversations can be found on the front page.
