Ocean forecast looks pretty fishable on Saturday. Anyone looking at it and thinking about making a trip? Maybe the Coho will be a bit closer?

Or are people thinking about hitting the Columbia for the up river brights around Austin Pt? Soft tides and 4,000 over Bonneville yesterday.

I'm thinking of going somewhere on Saturday, still haven't yet decided. Leaning slightly towards the Columbia though. I figure I'll give the coho a rest until the non-select season opens on the first.

Thinking about hitting it on Saturday and Sunday targeting halis and big lings... I'll bring some Coho gear and crab traps too, I'm sure. I figure, if I'm coming from Hood River, may as well make it a two-day event...

Curious if I could convince the wife I need to fill the freezer on Saturday rather than hanging with the fam.

As of now, I will be at PC Saturday and Sunday. Conditions looked... favorable (don't jinx it Fred, don't do it!). Dropping traps in about 50 feet of water and heading West and a little North. I will be on my Hobie Revo "Ms. Salma" with a bright orange hat; channel 69 (and the usual suspects)...

Got out yesterday in the madness that was Pacific City. Never seen that many dory boats go out before. Peopke were getting stuck left and right in the sand in the afternoon. Fishing was good. Many underlings, one cabby, one legal ling and some rockfish to add to the freezer in addition to some crab on shad bait. Will try again Sunday morning and report.

I braved the Hood to coast crowd and stayed with a buddy who lives in Seaside. Got up early and launched at Shipwreck at sunrise. Dropped in at 20’ and landed a wild fish in 2-3 min. Did it again same result. 2 hours of getting pummeled by the boat wakes of people running back down to the bridge. Ended up near 5 other kayakers and finally got one I could keep.
