That’s right boys and girls this years event we will have CJ Seibler (hope I spelled it right) alive and in person accompanied by a very nice raffle prize (working on a Native Slayer 13 propel) this will be limited in ticket numbers so once we get it all set in stone and opened for tickets let the fun begin.
Rules and times to be posted once or beautiful hostess Pam gets it all in line. Also anyone wanting to volunteer to help out please PM me and let’s make this the best TBKD to date.

Registration will be $35 this year. We will be having captains bags again this year for the (non mandatory) captains meeting Friday evening around 1900 in the old pool house in the center of the park there will be banners for HOW up.
Rules:
Ok guys basic rules are
no power boats or assistance from one..
sails are perfectly fine as it's not that big of an area
Tandems are ok as long as both occupants are registered to compete .. Only legal to retain fish will be weighed....
ALL ODFW rules apply...
Competitors are responsible for an Oregon fishing license as well as a invasive species permit....
You may only win ONE of the three classes for fish (let me know if that's not clear enough)...
Launch and landing at Old Mill Rv Park...
Pre registered guys can launch at First light (1/2 hour before sunrise ..
3:30 weigh in so if you're off the water by 3:30 we will weigh you in....
Flags NOT required but recommended (per the coast guard)...
stay inside the bay , if you cross the bar your disqualified....
If you have OCD and notice I missed something important please let me know or ask away as I don't want to make it complicated ,just fun and beneficial for HOW NOC.
Combined heaviest harvest per 3 categories:
1 salmon.....
2 all other fish....
3 Dungeness crabs....
To clarify the placing and scoring...
All of your fish will be weighed in three different categories...
Salmon
All other fish
Dungeness crab.
The guy with the most weight in that single category wins first place for that category. We will have 3 first place ,second place ,and third place winners. You can only place in one category.
Required gear as followed:
1.proper immersion wear for Oregon waters in June.
2.PFD all competitors must wear a CG approved PFD while on the water
3.Have a vhf or fish with someone that does
All competitors must check in with launch volunteer in the morning before hitting the water as well as check back in when you are off the water even if your not weighing in. All competitors will get a number based on what order your registration was received and that will be your competitors number and how we check in and out, also WILL be the order the captains bags ;)
I’ll get a camping price and info posted up ASAP as well as a tackle and strategy post plus a potluck thread and prize donations post !!!

Same as last year “triple treat” crabs, salmon, all other fish (rocks,lings,perch)

Your awesome as always Art. We could use one round trip ticket in your name from Texas to Portland, someone around here would be more then happy to pick you up and put you up for the event, and I’ll hook you up with the boat and gear, just need to find you a loaner dry suit and get you a license.

I can’t make it this year, son graduating Masters program at Oregon and daughter is graduating with a bachelors at Oregon State! Apparently, I am required to be there physically, not just monetarily! What the hell, I guess I can check out the breweries in Eugene and Corvallis again!
I will be hitting up Kershaw again for another donation this year! My contact there has left the company but I am being channeled to someone higher on the food chain! Wish me luck!

Shannon, we're camping down at Cape Lookout that weekend. So I'm not gonna be able to kayak fish.
I'll still register, then DQ as I will be (weather permitting) crabbing and fishing from the pier, then we'll hang with you for the awards ceremony.
So I'm the clubhouse leader for dead-ass last.

I’m an easy guy to get along with so you can register the morning of before launching. Keep in mind though we have a set # of captains bags that are distributed according to registration #. A little incentive to register early ;)

Last year we took registration payments through PayPal. As soon as Mrs. Mojo updates the information for the registration form, and I can make the changes, we'll tell you where to find it.

I removed the illustration for the TBKD4 Logo in case that is causing a problem - it's a large picture. I hope this makes a difference.

Shannon, I have a conflict that weekend - already committed to camping trip with my bitter half.
I'll be registering, and then DQ as a no-launch. There is a non-zero chance we can drop in for the awards ceremony.

Where do folks generally launch from? Beach launch? The ramp? Miami bay is often mud flats, how reliable is that for a launch? Trying to plan my camping spot to be close to the launch. Currently reserved a partial spot somewhere in the orange circle.

Partials are actually the grassy area to the right and we launch out of the unused (decommissioned) boat launch at the Old Mill. The partials are also close to the club house for the after party

Interesting. The office told me those were no hook up, just a grass field. Looking for power to make sure batteries, phone, etc. are charged and such.

Ask the office for a hook-up site. It's a short walk to the clubhouse & you can drive your 'yak near the launch to unload. Tell them your with the NWKA group.

Reminder registrations in no later then Wednesday if you want a captains bag. Other then that you can register the day of before launch.

Kelly from Kelly’s Place, at the boat ramp said if we have enough people interested in breakfast she would come in early and start serving around 0500 Saturday June 16th if you wanted to fuel up before launch.

What time does the captain's meeting begin Friday and where is it? Where do we launch from Saturday. If the tournament ends at 3:30, do we need to reserve a tent camping spot for both Friday and Saturday nights or do we have to pack up our shit a 4 AM Saturday?
Can someone post a map image with these locations? I've only been there once and launched of a rocky/muddy bank next to a restroom & fish cleaning station.
I see something on the map labeled Old Mill RV Park & Event Center. Is this what is being referred to as the "Clubhouse"?
I also see something labeled as "Kelley's" Place and it looks like there may be a boat ramp next to it. Is this where we will launch from?

Hey Dave, looking forward to seeing you and all the other addicts this weekend.
The old mill RV Park is where we’re having the event there’s a clubhouse about center in the park (I’ll post up an aerial) captains meeting is NOT mandatory, but will be around 7:00 ish to 8:00 ish( I’ll be setting up Friday) in the clubhouse. We’re launching right next to Kelly’s Place off the decommissioned boat ramp.
I’ll check in with the office but in the past it has been no problem for our guys to pack up between 3:30 and 6:00ish if your not staying the night.
I start the awards around 4:00-4:30 kinda during the potluck, followed bye the table prizes and then the Hobie drawing. That way those not staying the night don’t have to drive all night to get where there going ( usually wrapped up 5:30-6:00ish). As you can see I use “ish” meaning it’s not set in stone but as close as possible.

As a few of you know the host never gets to fish the tournament with all the crap that needs to get done before during and after..... now I’m fixing to have Two stiff Honey Jim Beam’s and Coke Zero.... then I’ll attempt to type the totals or just have TLW do it.

Another quality tourney Mojo! The fishing conditions were a little rough but I think everyone had a great time. I think those that were brave enough to cross the narrows were rewarded with some quality rockfish. I saw some pretty big ones for Tillymuck at the weigh in. Unfortunately my GoPro died about 3 seconds after I turned it on so I don't have any video to share. >:(
