I seem to have a natural skill of making my wife extremely angry. See, http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=6934.msg71940#msg71940 .

So yesterday we swapped cars so I could swing by a car dealer at lunch and see what they would give us as a trade in for her car. I cleaned out the old V-dub on Sunday and tried to air it out as much as possible. So a little after 5:00 I get a call from the little lady...

Me-"Hi, how's it going?"

Her-"I'm really mad at you."

Crap, now what did I do? Oh no, the tags.....

Her-" I just got pulled over by the police. Do you know why?"

Me-"Umm, because of the expired tags?"

Her-"Yes, sniff, sniff, sniff...."

Me-"Are you crying?" (Great question, stupid...)

Her-"Yes I'm crying! I don't get pulled over by the police! I've never had a ticket, why would you put me a car with expired tags?!!!"

Shit.

me-"I'm really sorry."

Silence..

Shoot the tags!  Thanks for reminding me :).
I would much rather be up a creek without a paddle than down one.

Noah, you are a great friend to the rest of us. I always show my wife your posts regarding your marital, ah, can I say shortcomings? It makes me look a little better in comparison. Thanks! ;D

Legally speaking, it's all her fault.  In Oregon the driver of the car is responsible for ensuring that the tags, insurance, etc. are in order before taking a vehicle on public roads.  That's why the ticket is in her name and not yours (assuming the car is registered in your name).

Now with regard to the domestic détente we call marriage... oh it is no doubt your fault.   Hopefully, you're man card will be returned before the ORC.

Hopefully she doesn't want a Porche or a higher priced make.

My sister in law got pulled over by a female stater for the same thing.  She blamed it on my brother, the officer agreed it was his fault as her husband has done the same thing and let her off..........

Thats a bummer man.
On another topic though, you should be able to make more by buying the car yall want, and then selling the old one on your own if you have the cash available. It always bothers me when my co-workers trade vehicles in when they could have gotten a much better deal by selling their vehicles themselves.

Not a moving violation, no big deal. Pass go, collect $200.
