When unstrapping cargo in the back of your pickup, I recommend not letting go of the end of a taut bungee cord and letting it fly randomly about. Rather, keep hold of the end and relieve the tension gradually and in a controlled manner.

Very :( today.

Got an email into Garmin service. It seems to still work, but, not a great way to start the day.

+1. I got hit in the face and eye once, and have used ropes ever since. I treat those things like a loaded gun.

My opthalmologist told me she sees a lot of eye injuries from bungee cords, advised me to ALWAYS wear safety glasses when messing with things that spring or fly about....I took her advice, and the very next time I was using my router took a piece of metal in the right lens!!!
If not for the safety glasses I'd be wearing a black eyepatch.

Crap!! I got a Formica shard in my eye once because I wasn't using goggles and ended up in the Dr's office. Lessons learned.

Got the finder shipped off yesterday. The Garmin folks seem really on the ball and helpful.

Ouch Terry.  I don't think I needed to see that.  Was this recent?  I'm assuming you're no worse for the wear after this accident, except now you have a cool eye scar!
