Baker Lake Sockeye/First yak Salmon

Went to Baker Lake yesterday to try my luck at the Sockeye fishery. I mainly wanted to test out my new Turbo fins and sailing rudder before the Humpy Classic on the 8th. I put in at Shannon creek, and mostly trolled the area 1/2 mile to a mile south of the launch. It was slow fishing, but I did manage to catch one. If you head out to baker get there early, as the wind picks up in the afternoon and things get wet and rough out there.

Yum!  Good looking fish.  How'd you like those turbo fins?  I love mine and kick myself for waiting so long to get them.

I love the turbos! They make it so much easier to maintain speed over a long distance. The  sailing rudder helped out a lot when it got windy out there too. I'm glad I made these upgrades!

Nice fish!!!! The standard fine are a joke. The standard rudder is a tad more useful but not tolerable if you are used to the sailing rudders. I think both should just be standard gear. If you need a easier to pedal kayak for the kiddie pool, I think you should "upgrade" to the smaller fins.
