Can't help with the transport, but I can at least bring a large cooler. It will be at Chinook Bend.
Steve
Excellent, thanks Steve. Please put some ice in that cooler  ;D

We'll need some large coolers & lots of ice for the beer. I've got one large cooler we can use. Who can help me tote those 15 cases up to Chinook Bend from Eugene? Any volunteers?

I have a large cooler and will be down in Eugene this weekend through the 5th for work and could haul some up. Let me know what you need. Thanks.
PM.. Thanks Craig.

Anyone online right now? Need input. We, Doug/Crash and I, are in a huge quandary on whether to make the 8 hour drive from Humboldt CA. The weather, well we have camped & fished in rain (GS events), but the ocean forecast is continuing to deteriorate.

What is the viability of the event realistically being a go?

Right now the bar camera shows that the ocean is perfectly calm. However, the National Marine Service is predicting 5'-7' swells along with 11 to 14 knot winds for Saturday. There is definitely a front moving in tonight / tomorrow morning. I'm not going to guess whether the Coast Guard will close the bar under those conditions, but it is certainly possible. I am going with the idea that it may be just a beer drinking weekend around the campfire, but it is only a 2½ hour drive for me.

At last year's ORC, by noon the conditions were just about what is being predicted for this year. I was out there, but it was a lot of work, and most people headed in earlier. If the Coasties let us out, everybody will have to decide for themselves, but it looks to be marginal conditions. If you have a long drive and are only coming to fish, then I would stay home. If you are prepared to make it a social weekend only, then come on out.

Thanks for your insights Sherimator. I have been wanting to come to this event for the last 3 years, this being the 4th year, for both fishing and camaraderie. This is not an easy decision on that level, however when we have good conditions here....

ok It's 10:30 pm and I just paid my admission fee. I am not planning on fishing this year because of rental property in LC to deal with. However I will bring food and help with cooking if needed. Looking forward to visiting with everyone. Dale
