June 24th HOW NOC Salmon Event/Race combo

We're toying with the idea of having a salmon HOW event following the Nehalem kayak race on June 24th. Any thoughts on that or objections? Race is from 0600-0800 so an hour to get veterans ready to roll.

Might work. But I would keep it out of the dock area at Wheeler. And down river from the dock. Two many boats trolling for beginners. Maybe up by the bridge. Using that ramp and parking lot.

That's exactly the plan as we will have parking passes for everyone.

Ok it's official we will be hosting a HOW event after the race and before the Buffet. So our Heroes will be scheduled for 0900 and we will wrap it up at 1300. Participants are responsible for ther salmon tags and we will be checking them before gearing you up.
Let's get a salmon in the lap of some of our Heroes !!!!!

If ya haven't noticed yet (or thought it was an accident) the after post of our HOW events I'm intentionally posting in the next events thread to peak interest in the next although this event probably won't need the help "come on its salmon" !!!! Am I right?

Had a great day on Devils lake , a few familiar faces not a huge turn out but great time non the less. Lunch was fabulous thanks Josh!!! Had Anthony stop in for the whole day nice to have ya lingbanger!!! Had fish CPR'ed so the hand carve necklace from Cannon Beach Artz went home with a great little lady today and Raymond can post the photos.
Thanks for our volunteers including B-Drew who stopped in unlisted.

It was another successful fishing event.  Thanks to all those that came out to help and to all the participants.  We were finally able to give away the prize for biggest fish caught.  It went to the daughter of one of the participants.  We hope you enjoy that necklace and don't let your mom steal it from you 😉
We also had some small prizes for second and third place.  Way to go guys!
I think everyone was able to get into some fish today and the weather cooperated for the most part also.

Our next event is set for June 24th at Nehalem Bay.  We will be trying for some salmon.  We'll see you all there!

To the HOW crew... This was my second event and once again, I had a great time.  Thank you so much for taking the time to put on these events.  In the way home from the lake my 14 year old daughter told me she had a great time and enjoyed spending time with me.  That was more meaningful than actually catching fish this time .  You guys are great and I am excited for the future.  I'll try to keep her mother away from the necklace..[emoji3]
