If weather is good I'll be going out Sunday.  But with the effects of Hector that may not be possible.

Got out yesterday with Jason.  No luck on catching anything besides some just a couple opelu that we used for live bait.  One good takedown at the end of the day but whatever it was cut the line on either rock or coral.

Still a fantastic day on the water.  Would happily fish with Jason again.

I would love to hear more about your excursion, I will be there next June and desperately want to do some kayak fishing. Thinking of spending one day freshwater, and one day salt. They have Peacock Bass, which is on my bucket list!

Hey Drifter, you probably did some research already for your trip so this may be info you already have. Waita is a private lake that you can hire a guide to fish on. They have bass and Tucanare. If you want to save some money you could try Wailua or Halenanahu (I think that's the name)reservoirs. I used to kayak fish on Wailua mostly just because I live 5 mins from it. Don't know if these are still fishable as it's been 15 or 16 years since I lived there. Yozuri or rapalas in orange/gold worked for hard ware but you can't beat a live 3-4" live tilapia. Pix of pix, so crappy resolution but give you idea of what's there.
