I've been getting a lot of PM's about how late people can register for the ORC or even about registering in person at the ORC.   So to answer that question, the answer is you need to have your registration in by July 5th.   After that the PayPal button will be disabled and we won't be accepting checks or cash on site.

We get it, after we had to cancel the tournament last year for the weather, there are people who don't want to bother coming down if the marine forecast isn't going to cooperate.

On our end, it's really hard to plan an event if we don't have good numbers.  As of yesterday, we have only 54 people signed up for the ORC.   The cap is 100, so we're barely half registered.  But I have a feeling that a lot of people are just in a wait and see pattern.    If 60 people show up on Friday night to register, we will be in a position of having to turn away 14 of you.

Yes, the ocean might not cooperate this year.  But the ORC is much more than a rock fishing tournament, it's NWKA's largest social event. If the ocean doesn't cooperate we'll fish for salmon in the Siletz and have prizes for that.   We'll still have our banquet/pot luck and charity auction and our proceeds will still go to Neighbors for Kids and Heroes on the Water.

Thanks for understanding,
Brian and the ORC committee

The ocean will cooperate, Brian. Enough of that none cooperative ocean talk, damnit.
Can you remind me where I saw the boundaries posted? I know I saw it somewhere.[emoji848]

It's not the cautious talk that jinxed us last year.  It's the people openly celebrating a good 10 day marine forecast that did us in.

As for the boundaries, it's part way down initial post on my "Official ORC registration" thread.

But because you asked... here it is again..

Actually, there are now no spots left.
Registration is closed.
Good luck to the 80 registered anglers we do have.
