4/28 - PDX HOW - Swan Island sturgeon

Howdy Folks,

One of our most popular events of the year is drawing near, The Heroes On the Water Sturgeon Rodeo. Volunteers should arrive at Swan Island boat basin (AKA Jurassic Park) at 0800 with Veterans arriving at 0900.

We'll have coffee and snacks in the morning, fish until around 1300, have some lunch and pack it up.

Hey Anthony, can you put up a link, or email it to me for how attendees sign up for the Sturgeon fishing? or is it already booked up? I have a guy from my work that wants to attend. I will be a volunteer, but I may need to bug out a little early as that is the same day as my daughters first prom, and I may need to be home to have the shotgun at the ready. jk. well, sort of.

I'm thinking Tanner and I may be able to make it out there and help out.  He's never fished for sturgeon, so this could be a chance for him to get the feel for it while I help the vets get their groove going with it. 

Count me in as a volunteer. Just got approval to be off for the day.

What all do you need help with? Do you need any gear?

I can probably bring an extra kayak or two as well if that helps? I am short one paddle if I bring both extra kayaks.

I'm trying to make it down, and while I might not make the 8 AM volunteer start, I should be able to get there before the Vets and help as best I can. 

Also hoping some of the new members from the area might give it a thought, good chance to see some yaks that are set up to get ideas.
