At our last HOW outing Pinstriper asked me to look at his teardrop trailer tongue, it was bending up at the hitch like crashed did. Fir some unknown reason the manufacturer thought around 16 inches of depth and only a piece of angle iron welded to the outside edge angle iron was sufficient for the life of the trailer. I don’t think so.
After getting the  J.C.B. trailer knocked out I started in on Pinstriper’s trailer. I am building a 2X2 tube frame with a new tongue to weld under the existing frame.
Pics coming 2 at a time, the iPhone thing.

Got it welded on 1 inch at a time so we didn’t burn it down. Hopefully paint tomorrow then replace the diamond plate on the front (previousl owner cut it out for an A/C unit).

Was so damn worn out from welding I didn’t take any finished trailer pictures. So at our HOW outing today I took a few of the pictures of it this morning. And yes it is used for hauling kayaks on short overnight trips.  ;)

A couple in the paint process and the new diamond plate after the initial A/C unit removal hole.

Big Thank You to Shannon for not only spotting the problem but knowing what to do about it. Thanks, Bro.

The steps are rock solid and make it SOOO much easier to load and tie down a boat to the racks.

Overall build is more solid now, and she tows great.
