Seems like you need to get 3 new rods!:

- Telescoping for backpacking (though I think a shorter 2 piece rod could easily work too)
- Multi piece for travels/car storage
- Tenkara for small streams

The 4 piece st. croix with the smallest pfluger supreme only weighs about 7 ounces spooled with 200y 6 lb mono, i've been happy with it for backpacking.

I have my 4pc stcroix mated with the smallest president so similar setup. Have backpacked with it extensively and still use it as one of my UL panfish and trout setups today.

I use a spincasting reel rather than a spinning reel when backpacking and kayaking because it's way less susceptible to damage from being crammed into a pack or dry bag.
