Bought my Trident Ultra 4.3 about seven years ago.  No gear tracks back then so I mounted my rod holder in the middle of the mod-pod.  With available extensions and adjustments I was able to position it so the reel was easily accessible and the rod did not interfere with my paddle stroke.  My question is have any of you, using the gear tracks on newer Tridents, been able to mount your rod holder there and have it be properly positioned?

Mine Trident 4.3 is 4 years old and I have the same issue as you. I have wondered about installing a track. I will be watching this.....

I have a couple of newer Tridents.  The only things that I use the tracks for is anchor points for tethers.  The ones on the rail are right in my paddle stroke zone and the ones on the rod pod get in the way of my "working space".  Instead, I mount Scotty flush mounts ahead of my footwells and use articulated arms to put my rod holder and Gopro in a useable position.

I put the rod holder in the mod pod track and angle it away from me (so its pointing at 2-3o'clock) - this gets out of my paddle stroke enough for me but ymmv of course.

Pretty much the same thing Spot did . Though I also sometimes use the factory rod holders at the back of the, seat well if I wanted to take a break from casting ( I didn't bring the Scotty arms, and I'm too lazy to tucked it under my leg again)

I don't have a good photo of it, I run a Scotty Orca on a track adaptor on the outside track and basically all the way forward. I angle the rod forward maybe 30ish degrees and that keeps the rod out of my paddle stroke. I also run a pretty long rod to keep the line way out and away from my paddle as well.
Often times you just have to try it.
