Well, after four years without a yak, I have finally picked up a 2020 PA14!  Outfitting it this weekend with my helix 7 mega si so pretty excited about that! I’m originally from WA (auburn) but just moved back to the west coast from central texas! Had a blast chasing the guadalupes and largemouth bass with an occasional rio grande cichlid, but the chrome never ceased to stop calling me back! In any case, here is a picture of my newly acquired PA and a rip grande cichlid!

Looking forward to seeing y’all out on the water!

Welcome to the NWKA forum!  Great group of people here.  Nice PA14.  My hat is off to you as that's a big yak to put on top of your truck.  I prefer my long bed or trailer to haul mine around.  The lift is muuuuch easier.

Haha, I've only ever seen those guys in aquariums.
I bet they are a good fight for their size.

I've already got the itch for springers, kokanee and ocean pretty bad!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Willamette turbidity at 11.4 this morning and dropping. May have to go after the Purple Unicorn of a February Springer if it keeps improving. Otherwise, I may be Merwin bound if the wind cooperates.

Smallmouth always an option.

Not gonna lie, I was checking every minute.  I picked it up at Sportco in Fife and drove it back down.  Solid as a rock!  Hopefully, later down the line I'll be working on a trailer!

I am rigging up for it at we speak! Hoping to get it in the water next week sometime!  Merwin is definitely in my crosshairs currently, but hearing that springers are popping up for the plunkers makes the Willamette pretty enticing

Yeah, same here!  I had a bunch of their cousins in a tank whilst living in Texas (African cichlid), so it was pretty neat being able to catch the only native non-introduced cichlids in NA.  Yeah, I cannot wait for salmon especially!!  And I'm gonna have to check out the smallies too!
