I was thinking of hitting Lost Lake this Saturday.  Last year my brother in his kayak caught 2 steelhead.  It was pretty awesome.  Does anyone have any reports they can share from recent trips?

No recent report but by chance I was talking to friend today about going there as well on Saturday, bringing our fly rods. Not a 100% sure yet but after being skunked a few times chasing springers I need to catch some fish again to regain some self confidence:-) So I might see you there.

I was there about 3 weeks or so ago just fishing from the bank.  No joy for me, my son, or his friend... in fact, I didnt see anyone catch anything around the whole lake.  I only saw one fish jump the whole time we were there too.  Found out later they stocked the lake the week after we were there  :'(

That’s Ray luck if I ever did hear it. About the same as my luck.

Quick report.

I fished from 9 am to noon and caught 11 trout. All on an olive colored damselfly on intermediate sinking line. I hadn't fished this lake for two years but remember catching a lot more in the past. Also quite a few small trout in the mix today. They have reduced stocking levels for the lake quite a bit this year compared to a few years back and apparently also reduced the average fish size. So fishing was OK but not hot by any means.
Now the bad: it was a real zoo out there with at least 25 people on the water most of the time (some kayaks but mostly floating tubes). Quite a lot for this small lake, surely when the majority is swinging flies. Probably not going back anytime soon because of the crowds.  I saw a couple of huge trout / steelhead cruising just under the surface and one person on a floating tube caught a trophy sized one. The weather was gorgeous!!
