Anybody going to be in Depoe Bay on Friday? I plan to be there for a 7:30 a.m. launch.

A few folk will be launching at Fogarty a bit earlier Fri...
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Thanks and hope to see you out there! I'll check in on Ch 69 once I'm out.

Newb with few questions here. I am assuming its a Fogarty Creek as an alternative launch spot to DB? Do you guys head towards DB after launching there? I am not sure where do people fish out of kayak in DB. Any insight will be helpful and appreciated.

It's the quickest access to the long reef system NW of Depoe Bay. Just over a mile as opposed to 3 miles.
Getting from the parking lot to the water can be easy or a chore depending on what the beach has done lately.
Take a look at the Navionics SonarChart, you'll see where to fish, and where to stay away from.
People fish both north and south of the channel that's marked by the whistle and bell buoys as well.
Where they go depends on what they are pursuing.
There's going to be a number of us heading out Friday and I'm heading out Monday as well.
Salmon is the target so it's out to deeper water.

Thank you for the info! I looked up this map that gives me some pointers and yes, launching from Fogarty Creek is a more direct closer path.

What is the source of this imagery?

Not sure but Navionics will get you something similar. They have a 14 day free trial.
