Tuesday 8/1 my buddy went on a boat. Fish are at 50-70ft deep, bite shuts off around 10:00, then picks up again around 1pm. Their favorite color is green and pink plugs, not hoochies. clip on 4-5oz weight after 20-30 ft, then let out another 80-85 ft seems working, water temp starts at 69 to 71 later the day.  I haven't been at Merwin since july 15, around that time they stopped biting hoochies.

I’ll be up there camping from the 7th to 14th. Hoping to see a few others up there.

What kind of plugs? I have used Kokanee Cut Plugs with good success, but not sure what others are out there.

The gate sign says 5am, but it often is open earlier in my experience. I will likely be there early Sunday morning with my daughter in a tandem hobie compass. I'll probably have my vhf on ch 69.

Nice quality fish up here this year. Most fish are over 12” and I’ve caught a few at 13”+. About 45-55’ deep on the fish finder. I’ve been getting them at 75’ on the counter with 4oz of lead. Good eats for dinner tonight on the Traeger. I’ll be here through the 14th.
