I was at AquanFest down here in the Bay Area and came across the StraightEdge kayak.  These have been around awhile, but the Angler version is new this year and adds a mounting bar.

While it looks like a whitewater inflatable yak, notice the pronounced keel at the front and back.  There are aluminum inserts to make them rigid.  Hmmm ... I wonder if you can remove the inserts.

I told them they need to add a mounting bar at the back that overhangs and accepts a drift anchor.

What's with the flotation bags in front and rear?  Does it not have a self-bailing floor?

It does have a self bailing floor, although you can shut them off.

It looks like  a pretty symmetrical boat.  I wonder if you could just flip the seat around and use the current straightedge mount to rig up an anchor mount and run it backwards.

We think alike.  Actually I told them they needed to be able to add something similar to the backend with some overhang for the anchor.  It turns out they'll soon be offering the frame as an add-on accessory.  I think it is glue on.

One thing I thought of afterwards was whether you can remove the aluminum edge for the bow/stern.  Perhaps put it in  upside down to gather up the loose material ... I don't actually know how it inserts though.  I'll ask them.

BTW, I think the bow is upturned a little higher than the stern.  If one were to do an anchor kit, I would think the higher bow would be the better end to anchor from  Good idea on turning the seat around and running it backwards.

I know this is a really old post, but the bags in front and back keep pressure on the keel to make it rigid.  It tracks pretty straight in the water.  I've been very happy with it although RIGHT after I bought it, the angler Pro become more widely available with a more rigid floor, better seat, and another accessory bar in the back.
