Few of us planning to hit Tillamook Bay for crabbing and rock fishing.
Meet in the lot behind the fish cleaning station around 0600 for a push off between 0630-0700. Open invite might be a wet one.

What does this weekend look like for fishing in the bay?

Are you planning on going out either or those days? Or do you know of anybody going out either of those days? Looking to get on the water and catch some fish...lol.

Ahh no not really... no! Too damn early for me.

I'll be there Tuesday! Might be a little late to the show but like I said earlier I will be done first due to my superb fishing skills! 8) of course I only say that because I learned from the best!
Cant wait to meet some more of you, I'll be in my blue Oceam Kayak.

if i wasnt working, id be out there. low tide 1hr after daylight is best. i catch 90% of my fish for the day in the first 90min of daylight.
6am lowtide, with a 430am launch is ideal....be off water by 11, hit surf till about 2 hrs after hightide, be home by 4pm....

I will be hitting Tillamook Bay going out towards the South jetty in the morning. Going to try to launch about 5:45 to 6 a.m. since low tide is at 6:53. Anybody want to join me you're more than welcome. I'll be in a blue Native Watercraft Titan 12.

How did I go Big D? Cruises the parking lot and fish cleaning station around 10:30, didn’t see your rig.
We’re on for Tuesday, morning rain forecast went away. I have an extra kayak and extra crab traps if anyone needs. Post up or shoot me a pm.

It went pretty good. Was on thw water at 550am. For out to the south Betty and dropped a crab pot. Started jigging along the Betty and caught a sea bass. Of about 10 inches. Continued working along the Betty and got about a 13 inch Canary fish. Got it to the boat and my swivel snapped off, which let the Canary go with my gear still hooked. Tide started coming in and i pulled my pot. Total timw at the south Betty was about 2 hrs with 2 fish and a couple bites. Nothing in the pot. Came Back in, loaded up, then went to barview jetty and caught some more little fish. I was off the water at about 930 to 10.

Looks like 7 confirmed for tomorrow so far, we’ll be sure to post up pictures.
-
I was camping in Barview for the last 4 days. Didn't even bring the kayak because of tides/wind forecast, but fishing off the jetty brought easy limits at slack tide. I bet you guys will do well. Went crabbing one day and got 2 keepers in a couple hours, but both were pretty soft.
-
What happened to the pictures and report?
I hope you didn't get skunked?
-
Nope but I do make sure my gear don’t get “slinky”.......
7 total launched staggering based on who was and wasn’t ready to go. Launched to a rather windy morning, nothing unsafe or too terrible, it just made for a faster drift. I managed 4 sea bass in the 10-12 inch range and got one keeper dungi and one large red rock crab for 3 traps. The wind out of the north made for a fairly fast return.
Cjweinehe’s kid did a self recovery demonstration after they got in, did great so in my book he’s ready for a PC summer (as long as his mom and dad agree). Got to use my new 660 lb fish scale >:D like I need that much scale nope just 0.8 lbs :spittake:
-
Love the scale though, we’ll be using it for TBKD.
Edit: reports on page 1
-
Also managed 4 rockfish today despite the later start time, also got 4 dungies. was a very good lunch today ;D
Ps, only having paddle power in the wind is a b****! Cant wait to upgrade to a pedal drive!
-
Sounds like you guys had a great day! Hopefully i'll be able to join again next time. Did you drop the crab pots near the south wall?

I believe that's where most of us were crabbing, I dropped mine pretty early, Shannon had to drop one near the main channel at the Coast Guard Station, due to needing a quick repair on his drive.
