Title: New to NWKA
Post by: Bottom Dweller on June 23, 2019, 10:08:34 PM
Hello all. Looking forward to more kayaking with others. Retired and recovering. Love crab and salmon. Drive a Hobie PA14. Hooked up down rigger and a crab pot roller to my rails. Working on getting electronics but putting winch to load into truck bed priority.
Looking forward to crab opener. Anyone going out of Alki or Mukilteo morning before fireworks.
Robert

Welcome! I'm not in your area but it sounds like you've got a good setup for crabbing. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your catches.

I have had decent success crabbing at Mukilteo off of my PA.  Just go south by the railroad tracks.

Yes, Mukilteo is a nice boat launch. Watch the parking and/or launching fees. I have also launched south of Shipwreck. You have to roll your kayak over long pedestrian bridge. It's a nice beach if you have the umph to pull the yak up the incline. The bridge crosses the railroad tracks.
