Well didn't get too many full pots out there (pm me good crab spots  ;D) but I did pull up a handful of smalls and one keeper in the pot.

The size is great, fits pretty perfectly in the back well of the trident. The construction is solid and I love the door on top to grab and sort from. Door size is generous and swings well.

They are quite light so definitely need to add weight to not lose your investment out there.

How much was shipping?
If I can recall it was around $20 or so but I ordered a few other things as well.

I actually just ordered two of the McKay traps and with shipping through UPS (both in the same box) the shipping cost is something like $27.

That's for organizing a group buy and pickup in Portland? I live in Seattle.

Pick up in Portland & Eugene so far. I'll take some to Florence & Coos Bay also. We'll have to work out all the distribution details later. It would be helpful if someone from the Seattle/Tacoma area was in Portland at the end of March. We'll be talking about it more on the McKay Kayak Crabber group buy thread.

Oh ok thats a bit far to pick up a crab trap!
I was gonna go clamming in Brinnon and just stop by their retail store.

Might think about waiting until we make the purchase, then you could pick it up in Brinnon. There's a few more people in your area that want them also.

Do that then and we'll take you off of the list. The whole point of this "group buy" is to skirt the shipping charges. If you're picking up in Brinnon you'll need to talk to them about price and pay your sales tax.

Well, this turned into a productive post - maybe the first I've ever made.  Good job, Ling Banger and PNW.  Excellent job of organizing a group buy.  You folks who ordered them won't be disappointed.
I expected the worst, but it was worse than I expected...
