Here's the link on their facebook:

I'm really interested to see how this works out.  I've watched the original Santa Cruz raptor because of it's speed/stability combo.  It really looked like an inspired design, and this takes it to a new level.

I'm interested to know how you steer with out a rudder though?  You pedal and paddle to steer?  Maybe a design oversight.

I have asked myself that same question as all of the center mount motors and pedal kayaks have that challenge and not everyone gets a rudder.  You are correct that those who do not have a rudder use their paddle to drag on one side to change direction.  Having said that, I have also seen Santa Cruz Kayaks with rudders so I am guessing it should not be hard to mount one on this new design.

Just stumbled onto this post..     Nearly finished working on an entirely new rudder design for the G2.   This one will be larger, more beefy, and quickly re-moveable for swapping it out with an electric motor.

The steering is with a hand control, but it would be really easy to set it up to steer with either feet and / or hand control.   Or both together.  That way if you had  just the mirage drive in,  hand control is used.

Swap out the rudder for a motor and you can also "pedal" while motoring,  to extend your range and battery life.        Or, if you wanted to swap out the mirage drive adapter to use for "paddling" you can remove the rudder completely, or add the electric and " moto-paddle", using your feet to control the motor.

Did I mention,,, "  Made up in the  North West " !  ( Bellingham WA )  Rigged by me,,, down here in Santa Cruz.

There is a  new lithium powered motor is about to be released... www.bixpy.com   about half the price of those Torqeedo's.

photo shown is a Torqeedo ultra-lite I've used since 09.   Good motor, but don't like the bulky controller.    The Bixpy's is a wrist worn wireless device.
