Anyone else thinking about a mental health day to take advantage of, what looks to be, pretty smooth day? If the forecast stays, I plan on going out of Fogarty.

Looks great to me, I will join you.
What time are you thinking of launching?

I'd be interested in trying it out. I've fished PC and Depot a lot, but never Fogarty. Where do you park, and how far do you have to cart your boat to the launch?

Parking in the North lot last time I was there. @clayman was there recently can correct me if the creek has done a shimmy.

125 yards ish to the water. Some on a trail. It is definitely a workout and beach wheels are extremely helpful. TOTALLY worth it for the easy launch and land and the great fishing right there.

Appologize if this is a dup. Thought I had responded earlier

There's a paved path to the sand on both sides of the creek.
That's the easy part.
Depending on the behavior of the creek one side may be a shorter journey than the other.
The north side transition from paving to sand is steep.
Water was available for rinsing off sand last time I was there, no hose bring a bucket.

Bit of a grind today. WetNet and I hit the water pretty early with the conditions we all expected. Went out deep and instantly hooked a 28"ish ling and let it go. Shortly thereafter hooked a big fella that managed to do the funky chicken and escape the net. Then 2 hours of basically nothing. Finally managed 2 32" ish lings in 20 minutes. Headed back to look for rockfish around 10:30 and the conditions got pretty crappy with a good amount of wind. Landed successfully which was a bit of a miracle given where it was breaking on the beach. All is well that ends well.
