Hit a local lake today,to enjoy the sun and some solitude (away from the powerboaters). Started out a little slow but got it dialed in a hurry. In the long run caught and release 30 trout 18"-20". Not a bad day. Batteries are now charged and I'm ready to begin round 2 of chasing salmon.

Nice fish! Do you chase salmon much with the fly rod?

Nice!!! We have such world class trout waters. Gotta do more of that. It's hard though when premium $20 per pound yummy salmon fillets are swimming around. Lol.

Well,  here we are into December and the salmon fishing is still going on. Been fishing the lower Coos River estuary (where did everybody go) pretty much to myself. The fish are still coming in mint bright and full of sass. How many salmon are out there, nobody knows but a couple of days ago was fishing Sunset Bay for rockfish, Yes where Roy holds his tournament and couldn't catch a bottom fish to save my life because of the annoying salmon either following the fly or smashing it. Why couldn't this happen when the ocean was open. Might start fishing the surf for perch since the water is a lovely chocolate brown and doesn't look like its going away any time soon.   Michole- to answer your question, yes!
