Hello, my name is Ted Pace. I am a member of the Canadian Kayak Anglers. I am from Nova Scotia and will be traveling to saldotna tomorrow for 10 days. I was wondering if I could get the inside scoop on the yak action up there. We are going to be hitting the Kisloff , Kenai, and doing some halibut fishing from a buddies boat. But would love to do some trout and salmon from a yak.

Any info would be great
Cheers
Ted Pace

Hey Ted,

Long time since our paths have crossed on CKA.  Welcome.

There are a lot of recent posts in this Alaska forum, most of which are from the Kenai Peninsula area.  Lot's of info to glean from them.

Thanks Allen.

Just looking to have an epic yak day while we are there. Any Leeds to guilds would be great or even some fellow yakers to hook up with for a beer.

The only kayak fishing guide in that area is over is Seward ... http://liquid-adventures.com/

Welcome!

I am headed to Kenai, Soldotna, Deep Creek on Friday!  It is going to be CRAZY!  Huge schools of reds in the ocean, everyone just waiting for them to enter the River.  Dipnetting crowds will be INSANE on the Kenai this weekend.  Kasilof River is not reporting too much activity.

So do you have a kayak?  What kind of waters you hoping to fish?

I check this site fairly often so let me know if I can help ya out.  My plan this weekend will be to hit the Kenai River from a powerboat Friday (Dipnetting reds - Alaska residents only), a guided charter on the Kenai River from a powerboat on Saturday, Deep Creek Saltwater from a Yak or powerboat (undecided, I have in laws in town), Monday I am doing the non-motorized Mondays on the Kenai River from my yak.

I am new to kayak fishing but not fishing the area in general.  I have some really old logs (1995-2004) at www.alaskafishinglogs.com  and a few of my kayak adventures at guidesak.blogspot.com
Personal Chauffeur for Kokatat & Hobie Fishing Team member, Ryu .

Personal fishing sites of Alaska Kayak Angling adventures of my son and I. I am NOT a guide.

We leave tomorrow from Nova Scotia and will arrive in Soldotna early Saturday. I wish I could bring my coosa with. We plan on fishing as much as possible. So if there is any extra yaks around, would love to get out. But if there is any chance for two people to tag along would love too.
