Okay, back when I was sure I wouldn't survive to see another July 4th, because that's what the doctors were mumbling behind my back, I sold my beloved Trident 13.  Second stupidest thing I ever did.  Maybe third stupidest.  Giving one of my T13's to a grandkid's "significant" other (he's not so significant in my book) for free might have been second.

Anyway, I'm searching for a new, previously-owned kayak.

Nothing fancy, and smaller and simpler are necessary right now.  I couldn't lift a T13 right now to save my mother's life - or your mother's life for that matter.  I've been trolling the Facebook Marketplace and craigslist for a couple weeks searching for any one of these:

- Ocean Kayak Trident 11,
- Ocean Kayak Tetra 12,
- Wilderness Systems Tarpon 12, and an oddball:
- Necky Dolphin

I'd like a kayak I can pick up (DUH!) and toss into the truck bed to scurry down to the lake until I get in shape.

If anyone has one of these in great shape, knows of one for sale or about to go up for sale, or sees one that's been left unguarded, please let me know.

- Kevin

(Yes Mr. Monkey, I just bought a Tarpon 120 for a different grandkid.  This kayak one would be mine. all mine until I sell it too, because I am, indeed, that dumb.)

It's great to hear you're healthy enough to get back on the water.  If it was me I'd contact all the relatives you gave your old fleet to and ask if they are using them.  Odds are they aren't.

Add the Eddyline Caribbean 12 to your list if you want a light 12'er.

Hope you have a great 4th!

Thank you, Dan.  You're too kind, but you're right: I'd need pulleys and ropes and stuff just to lift it up.  For now, at least.

Thanks!  I'm quite pleased to be here - or anywhere, for that matter.

Those wretched kids are using the kayaks.  Just last week, they went paddling about in Detroit Lake and used the T13 like a ferry for a dog and a cat.  But now that I typed that, it occurs to me none of them were fishing!  They don't need fishing kayaks, for pity's sake, and they should give them back!  Ungrateful brats.

I'd like to have a Caribbean, but so far, the owners of every one I've found for sale think their gee-you-mean-I-have-to-paddle-this-thing-? kayak is worth what used Hobies are selling for.

I have my eye on one for which the owner isn't insisting on a ridiculous price - if he ever gets back to me.

No matter how I spend the day, this will the the Best Independence Day of My Life, So Far.  I hope you and yours have a great day, too.

You can get your old T-11 back if you want and all the gear and milk crate. We only used it once but it was too good of a deal to pass up at the  time.

That's kind of you, C_.  If I can't find anything that weighs a bit less than a T-11, I'll get back to you.  Shouldn't take long - everything I've called to ask about was sold sold the day before.  Buying kayaks is a lot like fishing... it was better yesterday.

I'll be there the first week of August, possibly before if you can wait that long. You can email me. We are out of state right now.

I've updated my list of kayaks I'd be interested in to "anything 12-feet long".

You're all kayakers.  You know the good brands from the crappy brands.  Let me know if you see anything for sale and I'll check them out.

I have a 12 y/o Trident 11 that still floats if you're interested.  It's been a loaner off and on but I need to get it out of my garage.

Spot or C_run, C_Run or Spot...  Does yours have DIAWA in great big letters on the side?  I'm a big Daiwa fan.

I'm waiting to hear if the latest disappointment kayak was sold before I found the ad, Spot.  I'll know by tomorrow.  Very kind of you.

No stickers on the T11 and no pressure to choose mine but it's here if you need it.   ;D

Hey Tinker ? I think the boat you're thinking of (Daiwa) belongs to either rawkish or ling banger
Why so many odd typos ? You try typing on 6 mm virtual keys with 26 mm thumbs....
