So I guess I am telling you how I know so maybe its the wrong forum.  But in the one in a million chance others have a similar issue, I want to share my "fix" for a broken hummingbird pirahana max 160.

As I reported in an earlier post, my sonar died.  The problem seemed to be the main center button.  It just didn't feel right.

I don't know what fixed it but now IT IS ALIVE!  BWAHAHAHA....ok...

I gave it a really good fresh water rinse by hose then by swishing it around in a bucket of fresh water.  Checked the button and nope... so without emotion (ok, that's a lie) I banged it on the cement floor pretty hard.  VOILA! the button works!  I tested the sonar out of water and all functions appear to be a go.

Maybe it will die again soon...after researching the more advanced systems, I can only hope!  But as long as my ol' 160 works, I'll go with it...for now...

The venerable "big hammer, hard bang" school of repair.
