I'm posting this video because the author does a really good job of explaining and demonstrating how you install an item on the outside of your kayak that through bolts into a threaded metal plate that is on the inside of the kayak. The tricky bit is that this technique is for when you can't get your greasy little finger to the spot where you want to install the inside plate. It is important to note that this is by far the strongest mounting method you can employ so if you are mounting something that is supporting a lot of pressure, torque, or weight you definitely want that internal plate. This it the general technique that I used to mount my out-riggers and it worked so well I don't think I even had to swear while doing it.  Enjoy!

"Experience" is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
