Rod transporting

 

Heres a pic w/o the rods. I sanded and rounded the corners so it wouldn't look so much like pvc.

before i forget. c legs  what did you use to keep the rack from sliding out the back?

I used the only thing I didn't have to pay for........................gravity  .

One could drop a pin or nail or bolt into one of the drainage holes in the PVC to lock the rods in place.

If the holes were on the bottom of the tube one could get a long bolt, thread a nut/fender washer/nut halfway or 3/4 ways up the bolt and drop it into the hole as a stop.  Or, one could "permanently" attach the bolt to the PVC with nut/fender/PVC/fender/nut.

The mind reels at the possibilities!

Well, since my Ford didn't come with a factory rocket booster, the chance of me accelerating fast enough to lose the rods are slim to none.  I have an idea for additional securing involving a bungee cord.

Ive made about six runs to the fishing grounds with rods in tact all six times.

Almost thought it was steel.  Nice effect.

If you were worried about them flying away you could use an idea similar to demonics but use a U-bolt instead...then you could just drill two holes in the pvc and drop a u bolt over the rod handle...wouldn't need to attach anything just drop it in the whole and u could paint them black

I should probably make one of these.  My current method is slapping 3-4 rods with reels under the bungees on my T160.
