Heavy kayak meets trailer

(1/1)

seancook_pdx:
Hey ya'll,

I got my Wilderness Systems Radar 135 during the pandemic. I got the optional Helix pedal drive. This thing is a beast (95lbs+10lbs or so for Helix which is removable, but I leave it on). I used to put this on top of my Subaru Impreza. Dwarfed it (see pic). Haha.

I got tired of dinging up my car, so I got a Right On trailer (mail order, assembly required. The round bars on that made it difficult for my Thule Dockgrip to hold onto it (almost lost it off the back of the trailer on a trip to Harriet Lake). I did a little research and Right On makes this DIY kit for a bunk bar. I also got the box kit to have a double decker for when a friend wants to bring his too. My Ranger pulls it with no issues, as did my Subaru.

So, now I can easily load/unload by myself and get it safely/securely to a lake, river or ocean (yet to do the last).

Nice set up. A trailer is so much easier to load after a long day on the water.
