So, I thought my plans for veterans day were set. Going to make a day run to Paulina lake before they close the gate on Monday the 15th. Then I read this thread...........

Maybe this'll help you decide!

Joined Roger on the water at 9am. No rain, tiny bit of wind that later died to nothing, one other kayaker, maybe 4 powerboats on whole lake.

Around 10:30, I got this nice bright 30" buck, on a Brad's 3" wiggler, chrome with orange.

I left shortly after, but last I heard, Roger had gotten a jack, and was continuing to try for an adult, despite some rain that moved in.

Many thanks to Roger and Pepper, for starting this thread, sharing good info, and letting me tag along, my first ever day on Siltcoos!

Nice. I drove down here fomr PDX through torrential rain at 5p. Fishing tomorrow is a game-day decision based on the wearther, but I am sure I will give it a rip. Fishing Fri-Sun so if anyone is planning on heading this way let me know.

Nice fish Cameron! Were you trolling that Brad's or casting?

I'll likely get down there this weekend sometime...not sure which day just yet.

that's how you put a big coho in the net!

I picked up an 18" chrome jack at 1pm and tried hard to find an adult coho for the limit, getting totally soaked as the rain hit about 3pm, but no luck.  great day, need to rest my legs a couple days, then back at it.

finally, one of the spillways of the Tahk dam is wide open on Thursday, water pouring out to the ocean, calling in the coho!

weekend weather looks great, this should help spread the fishing pressure out over both lakes.   ;D

Made my first trip today at Siltcoos. Weather turned out really pretty decent. Managed a jack and saw 5-6 nice coho landed at the south end of the lake. Back out tomorrow and maybe the east side depending on weather

Hit the east side out of Nightingales at 8a and was off the water in 90 minutes with no rain and very manageable wind. Planning on following RogerDodger and Pepper around on Tahk tomorrow with my son. Weather looks to be much better.

Great! Bringing my son for his first kayak fishing trip. He can see the Masters at work :)  Guessing if I just follow you and Roger around I will at least get to see fish caught.

Amazing weather day on Takenich. I lived on the coast for a number of years and this was one of the great weather days I remember.  RodgerDodger, Clayman, and I all got a fish. Saw a number of others, but unfortunately, my son didn't hook up today. Give it another go tomorrow in surely worse weather, but hey.
