I've been looking at the new products introduced at iCast this year and this net looks pretty amazing.  This new model introduced for kayak fishing fits right in the rod holder.  http://www.leveragelandingnet.com/products

You know I thought those looked pretty cool too but I think I see an issue. Looks like that net makes you lift the fish with your bicep instead of your whole arm. Not too big of a deal but if you get fish over 10 pounds seems better to use a long handled net so you can tuck it under your arm for more leverage.

Or, just have huge biceps. Like me.

I like the idea but I wonder if the center bar wouldn't get in the way....
And, like Zee, I'd like to see a longer handle so you could tuck it up under your armpit.

Not all of us are as manly or sexy as Rory.   :-*

That concept has been around for awhile.  I remember seeing a similar product for the bass crowd a few years ago, I thought about getting one at the time but the largest size they made was barely "steelhead" size.

I can tell you a 20+ chinook would be a serious handful with that net.

At some point in both videos the spokesman says "one-handed" while using two hands.  Hysterical.

I checked it out at ICAST, and even showed it to Chad before he did the video on it.

I definitely like the idea of the net, but I don't think I could use one. As pointed out the nets aren't big, they'd be OK for some steelhead, but you're not going to be doing anything more than your average walleye with the net.  It opens with help from gravity, and I'm not sure how likely you are to have enough height to get it open when you're sitting on a kayak, especially with fish on the line.  It works great standing up though.
