Title: Whittier Kayak fishing day trip
Post by: akalmeda on April 11, 2018, 06:10:24 PM
Good Afternoon All,

I am glad the snow is finally melting and I am wanting to take my kayak out and do some fishing.  I am considering fishing out of Whittier.  Does anyone have any good recommendations for a kayak day trip out of Whittier?  Rockfish, Halibut ...... Just looking to have a little fun and try and catch something.  Thank you in advance.

I’ll meet up with ya. When you plan on going? Only fish I’ve caught this time of year is small rockfish species and flounder maybe a skate lol... I believe Sunday is opener for shrimp pots.

Arctic Okie,  I was thinking about going out of Whittier this Friday, 6 july, for a day trip of kayak fishing. I know my initial plan was going out in April. interested?  If so let me know.  Thanks.  Phil

We went out on exploring expedition in and around Whittier on 7/6...didn’t see anyone fishing for fish or land one.

However, a lot PB shrimping near squirrel cove by decision point.  Camped out at the cabin...so peaceful and nice.  Didn’t get the urge to kill any fish.  Maybe I’m getting soft or start practicing catch and release.
