Hello! I'm new to the forum and kayak fishing in general. After getting hooked on kardinal_84's videos I decided to buy an Outback. I went fishing for the first time in Homer yesterday - got skunked but had an awesome day on the water.

I'm wondering if there are any active groups in Southcentral or if anyone wants a new fishing partner?

Hey Sockeye, welcome to the forum. kardinal_84s videos definitely get folks fired up. There are a lot of great folks in the forum from Southcentral, but it seems many have stopped frequenting the page.  I’d be glad to fish with ya, but unfortunately I moved down to Kodiak last September.

But, if you ever make it down here, I’ve got a spare Native Slayer and would be glad to get out on the water.

Thanks for the welcome! I'll be sure to let you know if I head down to Kodiak :)

I've heard from one person already but would love to find more people to fish with, if anyone is planning to head down to Homer or Whiskey Gulch let me know!

I'll be getting my Outback ready as soon as I get home from work. I may not make it out on my April R&R but I will be at Whiskey Gulch in May for sure. I'll fish with ya and welcome  :) :) :) :)

Sounds great Aksteel! I'm up for Whiskey Gulch any time, that is just down the road for me. I'll send you a PM as we get closer to May.

Mojo it sounds like you'll need to drive up and join the party :)

Mojo, sturgeon from a Kayak may be worth a trip south but just barely. Maybe meet up on the Columbia some day. Its hard to leave AK when the halibut are in and the days are long  ;D ;D ;D

Sockeye,
Sounds good my friend. Maybe you can do some scouting down there and give us all a fishing report  ;D ;D ;D

As soon as I can find someone to come with me you'll get a fishing report :)! Otherwise we'll have to scout it together in May, I feel safe enough off the Spit but don't want to try my luck with Whiskey Gulch solo yet.

Maybe we can get a group together? So far we have three people who want to fish in May and early June. Who else wants to join us?

Whiskey Gulch with a group would be a blast. I'll be off work from 05/07 till 05/19. I plan on camping out in Homer and fishing the gulch quite a few of those days. I like the safety in numbers and meeting new fishing addicts is always a good time. So...more the merrier  ;D ;D ;D

Hi and another welcome.

Its getting to be the season for sure.   My gear is getting shaken out, and its time to fish!

I’ll totally be game for a run to the gulch soon - not this weekend but one of the next couple for sure.

I'll be home the first week of May for 6 weeks and I plan on getting out. I'd love to meet up with some fellow kayakers

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'll private message my contact details to everyone and we can start coordinating some trips! If the weather looks good I'd like to hit Whiskey Gulch sometime this week if anyone's interested.
