big thanks to the team of volunteers for doing the legwork on the AOTY. I just had the inspector go over the loot and she approves

I got my package this week as well... Just like Christmas in March! Thanks for getting all that stuff boxed up and shipped out, Drifter. I know that was no small task.
I'm particularly stoked about the Pitbull bora jigs. Itching to get out an the ocean to try them out.

Just wait until you see what all goes into the youth prize packs here in a couple years!
Those Bora Jigs look good! Supposed to be amazing for Lingcod!

Be sure to check out Pitbull tackle's website. Each lure has detailed instructions on how to fish which I find very cool.

Those look really good for just about everything

Even the bag for 9th place was real generous! More of y'all ought to be signing up for this fun little contest.
-
Just got around to taking a pic of the AOTY goodies. Thanks for all of the hard work guys.
-
You guys got some great Easter baskets!

Jed, If I had your talent for finding sponsors and you write up talent it would be even better.

I'm pretty sure they just take pity on me. You are doing great gathering gear.

Got my goodies delivered up in Canada. That's after entering a whopping 0 fish last year. Thanks to everyone who puts this on!

The most important thing is to get signed up. That’s how the money gets to HOW. Catching fish is a bonus and a fun way to compete against others or against yourself. More fish does equal more goodies though.

Well said James!
My entire goal of getting more sponsors is to get more people to enter and send more $$ to HOW.
My only goal as far as AOTY is to enter 10 species each year. I failed last year, but have no intentions of failing on that again!
So.....Please go sign up for AOTY!

We picked up a new sponsor today!
NW Tackle Shack out of Vancouver, WA
Check out their Facebook page and say Thank you to Ruben!

If you were at the Next Adventure Scappoose Bay Kayak event last month they had a booth set up displaying some of their awesome products.

My favorite part of AOTY over the years has been competing against myself. The camaraderie of competing with everyone else and comparing catches is really fun, too, but it's so rewarding to improve on my personal best fish and try to strike out into new species. Getting 10 eligible fish is a great goal.
My only real AOTY goal this year is to do better than I did last year, points-wise. I'd really enjoy hanging a new species on the board, too, but we'll see.

That's pretty much my philosophy too. 10 in a single season would be a big win for me and boost my personal best total for sure. For a long term goal, the challenge of catching all 16 of the available species here in Alaska...well...I'd buy my own trophy for the mantle on that one. LOL And always that standing challenge....break the hundred pound mark on a halibut.

"I'm playing the worst game of my life. I should have stayed at home and played with myself." Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack. Pretty much my philosophy.
