The GOAT board is so inspiring to me - really awesome! Congrats Snopro on taking the top spot for now - well deserved.

Just a reminder to people who happen upon this thread without previous years' context: The GOAT board was a bit of an experiment. The points totals are correct, I believe, but the individual fish it links to are sometimes incorrect.

So glad you’re keeping this going Captain Redbeard ! I personally know how hard it is to keep sponsors donating when there is only so much they can write off! It takes a lot of time to get all the ducks in a row and the T’s crossed as well as the I’s doted. Keep at man!! And congrats to those that can get the multiple species on the board, THAT IS NO SMALL FEET!!!  Can’t wait to see the end result from some great fisher”persons” ……………. Don’t count out the lady’s!!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. BUT, it truly is a team effort. Drifter has been dealing with all of the donations for the last 5 (?) years. Bsteves keeps the site running. Snopro and Nobaddays do most of the judging.

BTW, I got a new AOTY sponsor!
Yak Rods! They sent me some $50 off gift certificates for their custom kayak fishing rods.
Still a little much for my income level, but if anyone is interested just let me know.
Looks to be mostly custom bass fishing rods.

December looks exciting this year with the tight grouping of scores at the top of the leader board. I bet some people have not quit fishing yet.

I am going to find some time to at the very least put my 10th species on the board. May even make a run at the Tiny fish trophy.

That is a tight field!  The top 4 are all solidly in the game.

I gave a good last minute effort to try to catch Snopro, but came up short…literally.  I have no more fish to submit.

Congrats to Snopro, the very likely winner.  Winning a second time is impressive, but doing it almost entirely on a paddle board is very impressive.  If he deletes his kayak smallmouth upgrade, he still has a score of 1994.5 with nine out of his ten fish being caught on a SUP.  Having started SUP fishing this year, I appreciate that score even more.

I really liked seeing the added interest in the fly fishing category in 2024.  Congratulations to Kemfish for catching so many species on the fly and winning that category.

Finally, congrats to everyone else that participated in AOTY in 2024.  Lots of great fish were submitted and money was raised for a good cause.  Here’s to doing it again in 2025.

The two best times to fish is when it’s raining and when it ain’t. -Patrick McManus

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

I made my big push back in late Sep/early Oct.  Caught several nice fish, but not the monsters needed to compete with these guys.  Congrats Snopro, you caught a bunch of great fish.
Over the past couple years, the best part of this contest for me has been that its forced me to get out and try new lakes and fisheries.  Tons of great fishing in this state and I love showing up to a new lake for the first time and seeing if I can manage to get something.

I echo all the above sentiments, and I also have no more fish to enter.

Really fun seeing the late season fish come in - inspiring and humbling all at once!

I'm surprised n pleased to get 2nd, considering I didn't sign up this year till late April. Even if I'd posted the fish I caught before then, it still wouldn't have been enough to beat Snopro.
